Nothing but fun in the sun with all the good weather that we have been getting in Bellingham recently! It's great to see the community come alive after the long rainy winter. On Wednesday I went down to the park for a BBQ and I have to say I have never seen the place so packed! There were over five slacklines set up, with one spanning close to 200 feet and everybody was out doing their sunny park activities.
Kevin Curran, aka (camper Kev) gives the big line a go as people meander around soaking up the final rays of the day. Curran is recovering from a shoulder injury that he received a month back during the ski season but is planning on going down to Mount Hood this weekend for West Coast Sessions.
Sverre Finney is the man behind the scenes that brought down and set up the extravagant array of slack lines. He has been doing the sport for a little over two years after his buddy inspired him with a few videos he said. One day he hopes to make it to the Grand Canyon for the ultimate challenge, he said.
As the sun went down the sky turned into a frothy sorbet of pink, yellow and orange and the boys carried on into the dark.
